See it for yourself. It's really back.

These are real screenshots from the Folivue build. Updated July 29, 2026

If you typed previous Google Finance into a search box, you are describing the page you were using a few weeks ago: the dense, fast one with the price and chart on top and a stats table underneath, before AI summaries took over the screen. That version was switched off for everyone on July 23, 2026, when Google Finance left beta and the link back to it disappeared.

There is no previous-version setting, no archive link on google.com, and no URL that still serves it. Folivue is an independent rebuild of that previous version, with live data, launching next week.

Which previous version do you mean?

Google Finance has had two major eras, and it helps to be precise about which one you lost.

The original site launched in 2006 and, through years of iteration, settled into the design people now call classic: price and daily change at the top, a fast chart, the two-column stats grid, plain news underneath. That is the design that survived until July 2026, and it is the one almost everyone means by the previous version. Folivue rebuilds this one.

Why the previous version stopped loading

The switch happened on Google's servers, not in your browser. Google began testing the AI-powered redesign in the US in August 2025, expanded it to more than 100 countries in April 2026, and removed the option to switch back on July 23, 2026. Since then, every request to google.com/finance gets the new version, on every device, in every country.

That is why clearing cookies, changing regions, or digging through settings does nothing. The previous version is not hidden. It is gone from Google's servers.

How to actually get the previous version back

You cannot get it back on google.com. What you can do is use a faithful rebuild. Folivue recreates the previous Google Finance from scratch: the same layout, the same density, the same instant chart ranges, with live market data and no AI layer. Watchlists ship at launch, portfolio tracking follows. It launches next week, and the waitlist gets in first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I go back to the previous version of Google Finance?

You cannot on google.com. The previous version was retired on July 23, 2026, and no setting, URL, or trick restores it. Folivue is an independent rebuild of the previous version with live data, launching next week.

What was the previous version of Google Finance called?

Google's own interface called it classic: the link that disappeared said Switch to classic Google Finance. People also call it the old version, the old design, or simply the previous Google Finance.

Is the previous Google Finance archived anywhere?

The Wayback Machine has static snapshots, but they show stale prices and nothing interactive works. For a working version of the previous design you need a rebuild like Folivue.

Does Folivue rebuild the previous version or the original 2006 site?

The previous version: the dense, pre-AI design that was retired in July 2026. That is the page people used daily and the one Folivue recreates, with classic-style portfolio tracking on the roadmap.
