Thousands of people search for the Google Finance old version every day, hoping there is still a link, a setting, or an archive that loads the page they used for years. There is not. Google serves the new AI version to everyone, on every device, in every country.

Folivue is the practical answer: an independent rebuild of the old version, with live data, launching next week.

The differences go beyond looks. Users report that the new version buries or drops things the old one did well.

Why Google removed the old version

Google has been rebuilding its products around AI, and Finance was next in line. Testing began in August 2025, the rollout went global in April 2026, and the old version was switched off for good in July 2026. Public reaction included petitions asking Google to restore it, but Google has not offered a way back.

Can I still access the old version of Google Finance?

No. Since July 2026 Google serves only the new AI-powered version. There is no URL or setting that loads the old one.

What is the difference between the classic version and the new Google Finance?

The classic version led with the price, chart, and a dense stats table. The new version leads with AI summaries and a chat box, shows fewer numbers per screen, and simplified the portfolios longtime users relied on.

Does the Wayback Machine work for the old Google Finance?

You can view static snapshots of old pages on archive.org, but they show stale data and nothing works. It is a museum, not a tool.

Is the old version the same as the original Google Finance from 2006?

Not exactly. The original 2006 site evolved over the years into the design people call classic, and that classic design is what nearly everyone means by the old version. It is the version retired in July 2026 and the one Folivue rebuilds.

Is Folivue really the same as the old version?

It is a faithful independent rebuild of the old layout and workflow with live data. Some features arrive at launch and others, like portfolio tracking, follow shortly after.
